Lockheed C-130 Hercules (83-0490)
The Pride of Clifton Park returns to Christchurch from Williams Field.
Comments
I know this C-130 is used to supply our bases in the Antarctic, but the idea of skis to land in New Zealand is a hoot!
Paul Wisgerhof,
The wheels go down through the skis to land on regular runways.

Does it also go to Greenland?
Fine photo. Outstanding aircraft flying with a fine crew.
The skiers are based out of KSCH Schenectady, NY. Also they do go to Iceland and Greenland. The interesting thing is that they can be converted to answer the call for our nations bidding in time of war. I live in between KALB and KSCH and I never get tired of them doing take off and landings between the two airports. Great planes and Great dedicated crews!
