Well, to veer off the runway usually implies that you are on the ground before you cross the airport fence, the road, a couple of trees, and a parking lot.

Anyway, besides that, did it look to anybody like he started going into a spin to the left before he hit the tree? I can't tell a whole lot from the video, but I am really wondering if that might have ended up a lot worse if he had missed that tree. Taking the top out of that tree certainly stopped his momentum.

Anyway you cut it, he was really lucky.

Looks like the engine was running, but stalled it. Could have been engine problems not producing power, but what ever the problem was it says he did a go around... Looks like he stalled it into the tree not maintaining enough airspeed for what ever reason.... Just my view of it..

Looked like he was about to spin and invert as left wing dropped. The tree appears to have interrupted the process and gently placed him on the ground. I'm not enlightened as to the particulars regarding the runway location and if he was departing from or trying to make the runway, but luck prevailed. Not judging this fellow pilot at all for his actions, as I'm glad to say it was not me in the left seat on this one. Just thinking of the words harped on me for decades in the event of this situation to "fly the airplane" to the end.

I agree.... I think he was stalling and if he had not been so low he would have spun in. The Tree probably saved his life!

I looked on google earth and the plane is flying perpendicular to the runway and away from it when it hit the tree. Its at about the midpoint of the runway as well...tough to figure out. Look like full flaps are still out...What caused the plane to veer left or right 90 degrees in what would appear to be seconds after declaring a go-around..?
There is a large home with a pool behind the wall of trees just to the right of the parking lot. This could have been alot worse. The way that tree caught it and put it down...the pilot just wasnt supposed to die that day, i guess..?!?
