A woman with several dietary requirements says she'll never fly with Air New Zealand again after crew forgot to pack her meal on a long-haul flight.
About five days before her flights from New Zealand to London, Johanna Pitot ordered a special meal, Fairfax reported.
Ms Pitot can't eat gluten, dairy, sugar, fish, pork and few other things.
When she arrived at the airport, she was told her meal was onboard.
But on the flight from New Zealand to Los Angeles a flight attendant told her it wasn't on board and offered her a "teeny-tiny plate of brown, wilted lettuce" as a replacement for the meal, Fairfax reported.
"The guy was kind of joking about it, which I thought was a bit rude."
She then boarded her next flight from Los Angeles to London, only to be served a meal with fish.
Ms Pitot paid $5000 for her return flights from London to New Zealand.
Air New Zealand offered her 88 airpoints dollars in compensation, however she didn't intend to ever fly with the airline again, Fairfax reported.
An Air New Zealand spokeswoman told Fairfax crew did their best with food onboard if a meal wasn't packed. Compensation was also considered case-by-case.
