ST. MARYS, Pa. (AP) - Officials say no one was injured after a small plane took off with a passenger and no pilot then crashed into an unoccupied building at a Pennsylvania municipal airport.

WCAU-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1Ayw7a6 ) the crash occurred at St. Marys Municipal Airport on Sunday afternoon after the pilot attempted to manually turn on the propeller outside the plane with his girlfriend inside.

Airport officials say the woman did not know how to control the aircraft when it took off and the plane struck the airport’s empty administration building. A small fuel leak was discovered at the site and emergency services were called in to make repairs.

Officials say the airport was scheduled to be closed Sunday, but the runway remained open for use.
