So sad!

Thanks for sharing Marcus. Was this the aircraft with the Captain that did the 'flyby'?
TheSundanceKid
@ G Zorbas: This was the very last flight of an Air Berlin aircraft ever (27-Oct-2017, from Munich to Berlin, flight No. BER4EVR) and they "wrote" a heart into the Berlin sky that night. I think the flyby you mean happened at DUS/EDDL on 16-Oct-2017 (flight No. AB7001 en route from MIA/KMIA (aircraft A 330)) which was the last intercontinental flight by AirBerlin.

I'm confused - again. If this was "the very last flight of an Air Berlin aircraft ever", then why is it that a new pic shows an Air Berlin A321 (OE-LNZ) landing at EINN on 6 November?
TheSundanceKid
@ Viv: Maybe it is an aircraft which was sold or leased to another airline on its way to its new base, but still in the old livery.

@ TheSundanceKid : Thanks. I did a quick net-search and discovered she was flown to Shannon on Nov 6 to be "stored". Current airframe status is now "Stored"
Viv Pike
@ TheSundanceKid : That said, looking at the flight logs, it seems she was still very active right up to the "storing" at Shannon on Nov 6.

@Viv Pike
OE-LNZ is Niki. It's not Air Berlin.
Airplanes with "OE-" are registered in Austria.
