Great photo! Looks like they are using engines 1 & 4 for taxi power.

Nice photo of a nice bird. Will still be flying 10 years from now. 20 years? We would shut down 1&4 on station chasing Soviet Subs.

Excellent Photograph!
A.K.A. Lockheed Electra and US Navy version is the P-3 Orion.
Also called a Low-Wing C-130. Used the same engines, etc.
Flew on that Air Florida version at age 15 with my lawn mowing earnings in 1973, out of PIE to MIA, and the Navy version while attending aeronautical studies at St. Petersburg Junior College, Clearwater Campus, FL, circa 1978.
I was very disappointed because I thought I was going to fly on the Air Florida B-707-120.
But, the Electra and P-3 were both great; because, I was flying, that being better anything else at the time.

I think engines 2 & 3 are doing the work Alan, as they are spinning harder (no gaps between the blades) and they are inline with the undercarriage.

In 1967, I was stationed at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, Mississippi. When we were offered leave, I would drive to Mobile, Alabama and take the Eastern Air Lines Lockheed Electra flight to Atlanta, Georgia and then transfer to an Easter Air Lines Boeing 727-100 series to Charlotte, NC Douglas municipal airport. It later became an International airport and remains so to this day. American Airlines considers this one of their hub airports. The flights on the Electra were always wonderful weaving their way through the sub tropical clouds after take off. It had "git up and go" with those Allison turbines and the four bladed paddle props. This still is my favorite looking aircraft after all these decades. Thanks for taking these two beautiful photos at Shannon Ireland.
