de Havilland Dash 8-400 (N420QX) - N420QX arriving right around 2:30 from Santa Rosa. It was turned around in about 45 minutes and then headed off to Reno. It was a very busy day (Saturday May 7, 2016) as there were a number of commercial aircraft, the Collings Foundation a/c as well as a King Air doing pattern work (never seen that one before).

This was my first presentable shot of a Horizon Dash-8 since they began serving SNA a couple months ago. It was a pretty difficult shot to get with the sun still high in the sky at the time and temps. close to 90 degrees plus I was quite a ways away, but this one actually turned out pretty good which unfortunately wasn't the case for a lot of the pics I took on Saturday.

Superb "afternoon light" shot, Mark. Harsh lighting and ground heat make for difficult snapping conditions (I knew a couple photogs around here who always went home after 10 AM rather than try the tough shots), so Bravos and Congrats to you for your fine shot here. (T Up and High 5)
