It's a shame to see such a great plane, with so much history in the Pacific Theater of WWII, slathered with Red Bull logos. I rated this poor.

Jim,
Consider this, if it wasn't for Red Bull, the funds necessary to maintain this aircraft might not be available and the aircraft might not exist any more.

I completely understand your feelings and respect your opinion, Jim, and at the same time I know that Skyhawkrg's observation is totally valid, too. Jim, I would only ask that in the future, if you are going to award a rating, please remember that the photographer has no control over what is displayed on the aircraft he / she is shooting. I'm sure you agree that the quality of Mr. Gollner's picture here is much, much better than "poor." His photo is a crisp, clean, and color-accurate picture of the aircraft as it appeared in front of his lens; I'm appreciative to him for snapping it so we could see it because I'd never have seen it otherwise. I'm not saying you were wrong; your opinion is absolutely honest and understandable, but perhaps you did a disservice to Mr. Gollner with such a low rating of his outstanding photo. And while I'm writing ... Jim, your comment tells me that you are a man who has tremendous respect for all aspects of the history of our country, as I do. I admire you for that. Happy Fourth of July to you, Jim. :-)

I wish Red Bull would give me *these* wings. The F4U is my favorite.

I agree with Skyhawkrg. Commercialism or not, I appreciate the effort and commitment it takes to "keep 'em flyin'". As my father (RIP) flew the Corsair abroad the USS Franklin in the South Pacific, it brings chills when I see one still flying. Nice job and great photo. Thanks

Jim, I look at the plane itself not necessarily the paint job.

The F4U is a BEAUTIFUL AND POWERFUL BIRD. It saved my USMC Grunt Uncle's Butt more than once on the "Canal" and a few other islands in the Pacific . I don't think he'd care what color or who's name was on the side. It's the ICON of Marine Aviation during WW-II.My only gripe with the "Paint Job" is it says Navy not USMC on the side
