That is because it is the same nose section, first designed and manufactured by the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) McDonnell Douglas, for the DC10 and MD11. The only difference is the added eyebrow windows above and the observation window at floor level on the flight deck.br /br /Boeing used this same approach. The nose section, which I believe is called Section 41, used the existing nose section from the B767 on Boeing's next model the B777, saving both time and money in the development process.
